Kimi no Na wa. Finally Releases in North America on April 7

Following its successful release in South East Asia and select European regions, Makoto Shinkai’s record breaking Kimi no Na wa. (your name.) anime film finally has a release date for North America regions: April 7th.


North American anime licensor and distributor Funimation will release Kimi no Na wa. in theatres across the US and Canada from Friday, April 7th 2017. The release will have the option for fans to see either the Japanese dub with English subtitles version or an English dub version (the main cast for both versions can be seen below). The English dub was previously used in the United Kingdom release of the film. Details about the participating theatres will be revealed at a later date.

Funimation has also revealed that the Japanese band RADWIMPS will be producing new English versions of the songs that were used in the film. They produced over 20 tracks for the film’s Japanese release.
